Whether you rolled an ankle on the field, picked up arch pain after ramping up mileage, or have a tendon that simply will not calm down, a sports injury needs an accurate diagnosis before it needs rest. Dr. Steven Royall treats athletes at every level — high school players, weekend runners, and adults who just want to stay active — and the goal is always the same: get you back to your sport without re-injury.

Injuries We Treat

Ankle Sprains & Instability

Swelling, bruising, and ankles that keep rolling long after the original injury.

Achilles & Tendon Injuries

Tendonitis, partial tears, and the persistent ache that follows a jump in training volume.

Stress Fractures

Deep, pinpoint pain that worsens with impact and eases with rest.

Turf Toe & Forefoot Injuries

Pain at the ball of the foot when pushing off, sprinting, or cutting.

Treatment Options

In-Office Diagnostics

Digital X-ray and ultrasound so we know exactly what is injured on day one.

Bracing & Immobilization

Walking boots, taping, and bracing that protect the injury while you stay mobile.

Rehab & Strengthening

Guided strengthening and balance work that rebuilds the joint and prevents the next sprain.

Surgical Repair

For complete tears, chronically unstable ankles, and fractures that need fixation.

What to Expect at Your Visit

Prompt Evaluation

Acute injuries are seen quickly, before swelling and guarding set the tone for recovery.

Imaging On Site

No separate trip for X-rays — we image and read them during your appointment.

Return-to-Play Plan

A realistic timeline with the milestones you need to hit at each stage.

Progress Checks

We re-evaluate before clearing you, so you go back at full strength.

When to Get an Injury Checked

See a podiatrist if you cannot put weight on the foot, if swelling and bruising have not improved after 48 hours, or if the pain returns every time you get back to activity. Sprains that are never fully rehabilitated are the leading cause of chronic ankle instability. Call or text (801) 784-1111 for an appointment — we see athletes from Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, and Alpine.
